NBC Boycotting Dish Users
I have dish as my main tv service provider but I also have a minimum spectrum cable service. I downloaded this app on my Xbox one as well as other apps. All other apps including this one worked fine until our local NBC provider and dish had a contract dispute and leading to NBC cutting off our local access. So I figured Id jump over to the Xbox one and watch it on the NBC app. It no longer would work. I tried restarting app as it suggested and even uninstalled it, both several times. I called Microsoft about this and they were baffled as to why only the NBC wouldnt work. I ask is it because of the contract issues and was told no because of the contract they had with NBC and others allowing there apps to be used just as on the iTunes and such. However it was NBC boycotting all dish user, as they did Directv last year for the same contract issues. I know this because as I reinstall the app, used spectrum as my provider and it worked great. I have since added it to 10 apple products with dish as the provider and none of them worked, same issue as Xbox one. I removed and added spectrum and all work great. I dont think NBC should have the right to boycott an individual due solely on which provider hes paying, more to the point, who they, NBC, are having contractual issues with. CBS and FOX didnt pull this underhanded tactic, why is NBC? Local programming is free over the air to start with and no individual entity should have the right to charge for it. Thats what the contract issue is over. Its usually the same for all.
